Carlo and Ale set up ALTROVE following quite a few travelling experiences nurtured, in a way, by the so-called "Mal d'Africa", which is not a legend...In fact, if you actually love Africa, eventually you get bewitched by it!

Like true voyagers, off the tourist-beaten trucks. every single trip aims at plunging into the different ethnic groups they come across along the way. By sharing their daily life on the spot, Carlo and Ale have got to know their habits and customs, as well as their ornaments that have been distinctive symbols since ancient times, true witnesses of the everyday life in these communities. Every year they join two villages: one in Senegal and another one in in Mali at Mopti in order to strengthen human and cultural bonds with them, as well as business relations.

Thanks to their vast network of acquaintances and long stays in the continent, customers can be given special attention so that they can make the right choice among unique objects, ancient jewelry and rare trade beads. An exceptional occasion collectors should not miss...

ALTROVE aims at pursuing a most accurate choice in order to meet collectors and connoisseurs' expectations :Rare beads, jewelry and artifacts from local archeological sites as well as ancient European and oriental handicraft used as hard currency long before it reached the African continent through the trade routes..

ALTROVE also addresses to a wider public keen on ethnic handicraft that meets the Western taste by recreating singular jewelry specimens. New and old design blends together and stir our curiosity about past historic treasures...

Inspired by creativity, Italian artistic traditions and love for ethnic design, Andalucìa ( Spain) hosts the first exhibit of ALTROVE ancient and contemporary objects and jewelry.

The exhibit is open to the public all along the summer from April through September. Our stand is right in the heart of the historical quarter of TARIFA: a magic place between two continents, the last summer resort where the sea flows into the ocean, attracting Nature lovers and wild spirits...
